Appeal dismissed
The GDC tribunal decided to dismiss Elham Hafezi's appeal against her removal from the Dental Care Professionals register. The Registration Appeals Committee found that Mrs Hafezi completed only 9 verifiable hours of CPD in her five-year CPD cycle from 1 August 2020 to 31 July 2025, against the statutory requirement of 50 hours, a shortfall of 41 hours. The Committee did not find exceptional circumstances and upheld the Registrar's erasure decision as proportionate.
