What does “suspended indefinitely” mean?
An indefinite suspension is a pause on the right to practise with no fixed end date. The practitioner cannot work in the regulated profession until the regulator reviews the case and decides the suspension can be lifted. Indefinite suspensions are imposed in the most serious cases, often where a fixed period would not adequately protect the public.

Suspended indefinitely
The GDC tribunal decided that Miss Garcia Miguel's registration as a dental nurse should be suspended indefinitely. The Professional Conduct Committee was reviewing an existing suspension order, first imposed in October 2023 and extended twice, after she had failed to cooperate with a GDC investigation about her indemnity insurance. Miss Garcia Miguel did not attend the review and had not engaged with the GDC since 2023. The Committee found her fitness to practise remained impaired and decided that an indefinite suspension was the only appropriate sanction. She may apply for a review after two years.
