The GDC's Registration Appeals Committee decided on 8 May 2026 to dismiss Saraswati Thangella's appeal against the Registrar's refusal to register her as a dental therapist. Ms Thangella relied on a dental degree obtained in India. The Committee found her oral evidence did not show the knowledge and skill required for the role, noting gaps in her understanding of periodontal treatment, and was not persuaded she had met the outstanding learning outcomes.
