Struck off the register
The regulator’s term: erasure
What does “struck off the register” mean?
Being struck off (the regulator calls this "erasure") removes the practitioner from the register. They are no longer permitted to practise this profession in the UK. Erasure can be reviewed after a minimum of five years, but is otherwise indefinite.
Concerning Susan Diane Oosenbrugh, nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council 95J0186S).
Decision date: 6 February 2026 · Hearing started 6 February 2026
In plain English

The original misconduct was linked to the death of a resident. No evidence of insight, remorse or remediation had been provided. The panel determined that a striking-off order was necessary, to take effect on 26 March 2026 when the existing suspension expired.
Charges
The review concerned a suspension order imposed for misconduct linked to the death of a resident.
Findings
The panel found that Susan Diane Oosenbrugh's fitness to practise remained impaired. No evidence of insight, reflection, remediation or engagement had been provided despite clear guidance from the original panel and previous review panels. The panel determined that a further suspension would serve no useful purpose and that a striking-off order was necessary to protect the public. The order was to take effect at the expiry of the existing suspension order on 26 March 2026 in accordance with Article 30(1).
