What does “interim restrictions imposed” mean?
An interim order is a precautionary restriction imposed before the regulator's investigation is complete. It is not a finding of fault — the underlying allegations have not yet been adjudicated.
Concerning Ngozi Akpara, nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council 04L0119O).
Decision date: 20 May 2026 · Hearing started 20 May 2026
In plain English
The NMC's Investigating Committee reviewed the interim conditions of practice order on Ngozi Akpara, a specialist community public health nurse and mental health nurse from the Wiltshire area, and replaced it with an interim suspension order at a hearing on 20 May 2026. This is not a finding of fact: the NMC's case examiners have not yet decided whether there is a case to answer. A panel will review the suspension order within six months.
Findings
At an interim order review hearing, the panel decided to replace the existing 18-month interim conditions of practice order with an interim suspension order. Unless there is a material change of circumstances, a reviewing panel will review the interim suspension order at an administrative meeting within the next six months. The NMC Case Examiners are yet to decide whether there is a case to answer in relation to the allegations made against Mrs Akpara.
