What does “no impairment found” mean?
The regulator considered the case and found that the practitioner's fitness to practise was not currently impaired. No restrictions are imposed.
Concerning Satnam Lidder, doctor (General Medical Council 5208314).
Decision date: 19 December 2025 · Hearing started 19 December 2025
In plain English
The MPTS tribunal found that Dr Satnam Lidder's fitness to practise was no longer impaired at this review hearing. He had been given a six-month suspension in May 2025 for making homophobic comments to a junior colleague and then dishonestly reporting to the Royal College of Physicians that the colleague had cheated in his examinations. The tribunal found he had developed full insight and remediated his misconduct, and directed the suspension to expire at the end of its full term.
Charges
At the original May 2025 hearing, Dr Lidder was found to have made homophobic comments to a junior colleague and then dishonestly reported to the Royal College of Physicians that the same colleague had cheated in his MRCP examination, with the intention of discrediting him after he made a complaint against Dr Lidder. A six-month suspension was imposed.
Findings
At this review hearing the Tribunal found that Dr Lidder's fitness to practise was no longer impaired. The Tribunal found he had used his suspension effectively to remediate his misconduct, develop full insight, and maintain his clinical skills. The Tribunal determined that the six-month suspension should run its full course as directed by the May 2025 Tribunal and that no further restrictive action was required upon its expiry.
