Decision date: 17 June 2026 · Hearing started 17 June 2026

In plain English

The NMC's Investigating Committee imposed an interim conditions of practice order on mental health nurse Esther Omoyemi Adeniyi for 18 months at a hearing on 17 June 2026. The panel said the order allows the NMC time to investigate at least nine alleged medication incidents and alleged communication incidents. The conditions restrict her to a single employer, bar bank or agency work, and require supervision. The allegations have not yet been decided.

Charges

Allegations have not yet been adjudicated. The panel noted at least nine alleged medication incidents and alleged communication incidents that need to be investigated. The NMC Case Examiners are yet to decide whether there is a case to answer.

Findings

The panel decided to make an interim conditions of practice order for a period of 18 months to allow the NMC time to conduct its investigation, which it acknowledged was only in the early stages. Conditions include limiting practice to a single substantive employer, no bank or agency work, not being the nurse in charge of any shift, direct supervision of medicines administration until assessed as competent, supervised working, fortnightly meetings with a line manager, and notification requirements. The order must be reviewed before the end of the next six months and every six months thereafter.
