What does “struck off the register” mean?
Being struck off (the regulator calls this "erasure") removes the practitioner from the register. They are no longer permitted to practise this profession in the UK. Erasure can be reviewed after a minimum of five years, but is otherwise indefinite.

His written reflections include admissions about falsifying the drugs test and an acceptance that such conduct was unacceptable, those admissions having been made soon after the misconduct and repeated in subsequent statements. 139. However, the Registrant’s insight has shown important limitations. Until the submissions he made to the Panel at this stage of the hearing, the Registrant’s insight into his misconduct was largely focused upon its impact on him. In his pieces of written reflection, the weight of his reflections was self-centred. 140. [Redacted. He complained of the lack of support given to him by EEMS both before his misconduct and subsequently by distancing themselves from him. He expressed shock for the breadth of the personal information that DN had passed on to EEMS. In summary, the Registrant considered that he had ‘been through an awful lot in the past.’ 141. In his reflections sent to the HCPC on or about 30 April 2025, the Registrant stated that he had always acknowledged the gravity of his actions which he had thought about constantly and that he now understood more about the public role of a Paramedic and his professional responsibilities. However, he emphasised the personal effect on him, stating ‘I really have had to focus a lot on myself, and so did not perhaps demonstrate a view of the wider picture’. He had ‘paid the ultimate price for [his] dishonesty, and continue[d] to deal with the ramifications of [his] actions in so many ways.’ 142. The Panel considers that in emphasising his basic trustworthiness in the written reflections, the Registrant appeared to externalise the problem of his illicit drug...
