The GPhC committee extended Khalid Sayed's suspension by six months at an October 2024 review. The earlier case concerned a dishonest attempt to take tramadol from a pharmacy. Although it recognised training and commitment to the profession, the committee found insufficient insight into dishonesty and a continuing risk of repetition. It ordered a further review and an immediate interim suspension covering the appeal period.
Charges
This review concerned a nine-month suspension imposed in January 2024 after Mr Sayed admitted dishonestly attempting to remove ten tramadol capsules from a pharmacy without permission, payment or a valid prescription. It did not determine new allegations.
Findings
The committee found fitness to practise remained impaired. Although it commended training, reflection and continued commitment to pharmacy, it found insufficient insight into dishonesty and a continuing risk of repetition. It imposed a further six-month suspension with review, allowing another opportunity to develop insight, and an immediate interim suspension covering the appeal period.
