Decisions and hearings

  1. Medical Practitioners Tribunal Servicesubstantive hearing

    No impairment found

The MPTS tribunal found that the facts alleged against Dr Sharareh Brealey, the former Medical Director at GSK's Clinical Unit Cambridge, were not proved. The General Medical Council had alleged that between 2021 and 2024 she bullied six junior physicians and abused her senior position. The tribunal decided the evidence did not support those allegations and concluded the case at the facts stage without making a finding on impairment.

  2. Medical Practitioners Tribunal Serviceother

    Other outcome

The MPTS tribunal held a preliminary hearing to decide whether seven witnesses in Dr Brealey's case should be allowed to give evidence by video link as vulnerable witnesses. The tribunal set aside an earlier case management direction and found that none of the seven witnesses met the legal test for vulnerability. The tribunal directed that all witnesses must attend the hearing in person to give oral evidence. No decision was made on the substantive allegations against Dr Brealey at this stage.
