The NMC's Investigating Committee replaced Michael David Brillo's interim suspension with interim practice conditions on 16 September 2026. Work is restricted to Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, with no nurse-in-charge or sole-nurse shifts. Specified procedures and patient-identity checks require direct supervision, with the latter restriction subject to competency assessment. The conditions also require meetings and reports. Case Examiners had not yet decided whether there was a case to answer.
