The panel recognised his engagement and training but found insufficient insight and evidence of improvement after earlier clinical failings and dishonest records. It retained supervision, training and reporting requirements, considering these sufficient to protect patients while allowing him to demonstrate improvement in nursing practice.
Charges
The original findings concerned medication handling and recording, wound care, incomplete clinical tasks and dishonest clinical records. A charge concerning Gabapentin was proved only in relation to the missing second signature; failing to have administration checked was not proved.
Findings
The NMC review panel found continuing impairment on public protection and public interest grounds. It acknowledged engagement and relevant online training but found limited insight, particularly into dishonesty, and insufficient evidence of remediation or compliance with the face-to-face training requirement. It extended conditions for 12 months from the end of 15 October 2026. Conditions include one substantive non-agency employer, face-to-face medication and wound-care training, direct supervision of medication and wound care until signed off as competent, other supervision requirements, a development plan and reports. The panel considered suspension or striking off disproportionate because supervised practice would enable remediation.
