The NMC's Fitness to Practise Committee imposed a suspension order on Cali Maxamuud, a registered mental health nurse from Bedfordshire, on 10 February 2026. The committee found proved that Maxamuud made derogatory comments via WhatsApp about a vulnerable patient at Cygnet Hospital in 2019, including comments that the patient 'should be allowed to die'.
