Decisions and hearings

  1. Nursing and Midwifery Councilvoluntary removal

Voluntary erasure accepted(voluntary removal from the register)

The NMC agreed to remove nurse Gurprit Poonia from its register on 21 May 2026 at her own application. A referral had alleged she failed to demonstrate the standards of knowledge, skill and judgment required to practise without supervision, including in catheterisation, record keeping and injection techniques. No allegation was found proved by a statutory committee. An Assistant Registrar decided she no longer intends to work as a registered nurse and the allegations were not likely to result in a striking-off order.
