The GDC's Registration Appeals Committee decided to dismiss Muneeb Amjad's appeal against the Registrar's refusal to register him as a dentist. The Registrar had declined the application on good character grounds after Mr Amjad submitted an altered qualification certificate in support of a separate application to join the dental care professionals register. The Committee found his actions were dishonest and was not satisfied he had demonstrated the good character required for registration.

In January 2024 he was convicted at Portsmouth Crown Court of four counts of sexual assault against three female patients, committed while he worked as a locum GP, and was sentenced to 42 months' imprisonment. The tribunal found the conduct incompatible with continued registration, erased his name from the medical register and imposed an immediate order of suspension.
