The MPTS tribunal found that Dr Sayed Mia's fitness to practise was impaired by reason of misconduct. He had carried out surgical procedures at premises not registered with the CQC, then given false information to CQC inspectors when they visited, and omitted the work from a Declaration of Concerns form. The tribunal imposed a 12-month suspension, finding erasure disproportionate given his engagement with proceedings and steps towards remediation. A review hearing was directed.
