The tribunal found that a WhatsApp message she sent to fellow GPs in October 2023 was Islamophobic and seriously offensive, that messages portraying a colleague as antisemitic were seriously offensive, and that a public post on X about university admissions demonstrated racial hostility and was seriously offensive. It ordered a four-month suspension with a review hearing and did not impose an immediate order. Dr Nonoo-Cohen has lodged an appeal and remains free to practise unrestricted while it is considered.

The MPTS tribunal decided that Dr Mark Joyce's fitness to practise is no longer impaired and revoked the conditions on his registration. This was a review of an order imposed by a 2023 tribunal which had found impairment based on misconduct involving controlled medication taken from hospitals where he worked, a related health ground, and a drink-driving conviction. The tribunal found that he had shown clear regret, well-developed insight and sustained remediation, with no repetition since 2019, and concluded that no restrictive action was needed.

At Edinburgh Sheriff Court on 17 February 2025 he was convicted of communicating indecently with a 15-year-old child between November 2019 and May 2020 by sending sexually explicit messages and intimate images, and was made subject to the sex offender notification requirements. The tribunal found no evidence of insight or remediation and imposed an immediate order so that the suspension takes effect at once.

Restoration to the register refused
The MPTS tribunal refused Dr Mohamed El Muiad's application to be restored to the Medical Register. He was erased in 2012 after a tribunal found that, between August 2008 and July 2009, he had dishonestly worked at more than one NHS hospital at the same time and claimed payment for overlapping shifts, having previously been suspended for six months in 2005 for similar dishonest claims. The tribunal accepted his ethics study and remorse but found his insight, remediation and evidence of fitness to practise were not sufficient and that restoration would undermine public confidence in the profession.
